QUALIFICATIONS
To register to vote, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen and a Kentucky resident for at least 28 days before the election.
- Non-U.S. citizens, including U.S. nationals do not qualify;
- Be at least 18 years old by the next General Election;
- Kentucky law allows qualified individuals to register at 17 years of age and be able to participate in a Primary Election if the individual will be 18 years old by the General Election;
- Not be a convicted felon (or, if convicted of a felony, my right to vote has been restored following an expungement, Executive Pardon, or Executive Order;
- Not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law and have voting rights removed;
- Not claim the right to vote outside Kentucky;
WAYS TO REGISTER
Online: Visit govote.ky.gov. You may use a current Kentucky Driver's License to help you complete an application online.
Mail: Print & submit a completed Voter Registration Application to your County Clerk's Office.
In-person: Visit your County Clerk's Office to submit an application in person.

VERIFY YOUR REGISTRATION STATUS
Registered Kentucky voters can check their registration status at any time using govote.ky.gov.
Eligible individuals who register to vote in Kentucky will receive a voter confirmation card from their County Clerk after applying and being added to the voter roll in his or her county. Receipt of this card notifies you that you are a registered voter in Kentucky and your polling place. Should you wish to follow up on your voter registration application, contact your County Clerk's Office.
UPDATE YOUR REGISTRATION
You must update your registration if you changed your name, residence or mailing address. You can update your registration online or by completing a Voter Registration Application and submitting it to your County Clerk's Office.
